The ‘If Trees Had a Voice’ project

Role: composer, arranger

Location: online

A short film and immersive audio project by Mariia Yaremak, which won second place at the 7th European 3D Audio Production Competition (category: audio drama / documentary / soundscapes).

Work on the piece took place whilst Mariia was studying on a 3D audio course in Graz, Austria. Her final project comprised several hundred tracks designed to convey the mystique of the Carpathians.

The sound was inspired by the voices of Sméagol in “The Lord of the Rings” and the multi-layered whispers of Bene Gesserit in Hans Zimmer’s “Dune”, creating an atmosphere of mystery and inner dialogue.
