Role: composer, arranger, pianist

The ‘Ukrainian Fantasy’ project’s concert at the Lviv National Philharmonic, entitled ‘Memories of the Future’, presented a new vision of Ukrainian folklore as a majestic cinematic soundtrack.

For the performance at the Philharmonic, Mariia Yaremak prepared an expanded programme, in which the sound of the grand piano was complemented by rich instrumental accompaniment.

– Mariia Yaremak – composer, arranger and pianist.

– Uliana Horbachevska – folk singer (vocals).

– Maksym Berezhnyuk – ethnic wind instruments.

– A string quintet comprising Marynka Hromadska, Maiboroda, Anna Buroi, Bohdana Kalichak and Daniel Hrushyna. Olena

– Percussion performed by Viktoria Dudchuk.

The programme combined archaic melodies (‘Podolyanochka’, ‘Ivanku’, ‘The Grey Cat’) with Mariia’s original compositions, creating an atmosphere of magic and a deep connection with Ukrainian roots.

The concert had a strong charitable and social dimension. It was at this event that the ‘Ticket of Gratitude’ initiative was launched, enabling audience members to buy tickets not only for themselves but also for those serving on the front line or in need of support. Around 20 per cent of all tickets for the event were gifts from audience members to one another. Nearly 40 guests – military personnel, veterans, widows of fallen heroes and people undergoing rehabilitation – were able to attend the concert free of charge. Tickets were also donated to the organisations UNBROKEN, ‘Hospitaliers’, the Military Families Support Office and Dr Lee Watson’s team.
