Ukrainian fantasy
Her ‘Ukrainian Fantasy’ project began as a series of online compositions, which collectively garnered millions of views on social media, and later evolved into international events where audiences had the opportunity to experience a unique blend of historical and contemporary musical language.
In late May 2026, together with illustrator Oleksandra Dikaya and photographer Pavlo Yaremak, Mariia released a bilingual, illustrated sheet music edition entitled ‘The Musical Tales of Ukraine’. The project combines original piano music, illustrations and photographs inspired by Ukrainian folklore, legends and cultural heritage.
The book contains 20 piano pieces of varying levels of difficulty – from beginner to professional. The collection includes both original compositions and the author’s reinterpretations of well-known folk songs and ritual melodies. This book has already been endorsed by British writer Stephen Fry, Mick Audsley (editor of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”), Grammy Award winner Penka Kuneva, British actor and comedian Stephen Fry, and many others.
Fundraising is currently underway for a charity edition of the book, to be donated to music schools in Ukraine.
